KUALA LUMPUR: The question of the government’s takeover of the highway concessionaires will be raised during today’s Dewan Rakyat session.
Based on the order document, Mahdzir Khalid (BN-Padang Terap) will ask the Public Works minister if the government intends to renegotiate with the concessionaires to take control of the roads.
Ahmad Faizal Azumu (PPBM-Tambun) will ask the prime minister about the status of the request to upgrade the pier on Pangkor Island and the proposal to reduce the duty-free status on Pangkor Island from 48 hours to 24 hours.
Nor Azrina Surip (PH-Merbok) also wants the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture to work out the measures to promote the Sungai Batu archaeological site, which is said to be among the oldest civilization sites in the world along with the temple. Borobudur in Central Java and Angkor Wat in Cambodia – as a tourist attraction.
The debate on the Supply Bill 2021, which covers the budget, will take place for the ninth day.
The Dewan will sit for four hours starting at 10 a.m. with only 80 MPs, 41 from the government and 39 from the opposition and independents, authorized at any time to help control the spread of Covid-19.
The current meeting will be held for 27 days until December 15.
