KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): All users of Rapid KL trains must follow certain measures to control passenger movement from Monday (May 4) to guarantee social distancing and avoid congestion on platforms and trains.

According to a notice posted on Rapid KL’s social media channels, only a certain number of passengers will be able to board the train, therefore a longer than usual waiting time is expected.

“Body temperature checks will be carried out before passengers can enter the station, and passengers with high body temperatures should avoid using public transportation.

“Station officials will also monitor passenger movement before or after automatic doors. Passengers are also recommended to wear face masks and disinfectants,” he said, adding that markers were placed on platforms and trains on board to help passengers to practice social distancing. .

A Prasarana Malaysia Bhd spokesman said the rules issued by Rapid KL were based on guidelines set by the Ministry of Transport.

The government announced on Sunday (May 3) that public transportation could only operate at half capacity under Monday’s conditional movement control order to ensure that social distancing was observed. – Bernama
