Vijay movie Master is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Lokesh has achieved something of a casting coup by tying up Vijay Sethupathi to play the main antagonist.
The teaser for the long-awaited movie Master, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, was released on Saturday, coinciding with the Diwali festival.
The teaser features Vijay as JD, a heavy drinker and professor at a university. In campus-based movies, it is usually the students who would create problems for the teachers. But, director Lokesh Kanagaraj seems to have changed that trope.
JD appears to be locked in a cage fight with Vijay Sethupathi, who appears to be playing the role of a butcher in the film. And yes, Sethupathi is the villain.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has edited the teaser with the sole intention of pleasing Vijay’s fanbase. The action-packed teaser offers a solid introduction to the rebellious teacher, who despite his serious drinking problem, looks incredibly fit and handsome.
A look at Master was long overdue as the filmmakers were reluctant to make a sneak peek during the COVID-19-induced lockdown. With theaters across the country reopening, the filmmakers have begun work on the film’s release.
However, we could well be several months away from its theatrical release, as public sentiment when it comes to going to theaters remains very low due to the pandemic.
It is also worth noting that Vijay’s popularity and the enormous expectations surrounding Master are expected to breathe new life into the business of film distribution and showing. Trade experts believe that Vijay’s protagonist will play an important role in getting people back to movie theaters.
Master is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has only two movies (Managaram and Kaithi). He did something of a casting coup by tying up Vijay Sethupathi to play the main antagonist. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj.
