He said the publication of the book had sparked various reactions, including questioning from circles about the trustworthiness and competence of legal officials at the Attorney General’s Office (AGC).

He said that the content of the book, “My Story: Justice in the Desert,” has had a negative impact, especially from the public eye, and has directly affected the morale and spirit of the department’s officers.

“For me, it is an obvious insult to our legal institution, which we respect and defend,” he said in a statement, which was signed by him, to AGC legal officials.

Idrus said he was aware that legal officers had to work under pressure, with time constraints, for challenging tasks that sometimes had to work outside office hours, on weekends and had to sacrifice their time with family. to prioritize your work.

He said that it cannot be denied that the commitment and sacrifice of the officers cannot be valued with money.

“Therefore, I would like to emphasize and give an assurance that I will not be influenced by the content of the book, which clearly reflects the superficial thinking of the short experience of a person who does not understand the public service institution, especially the Attorney General’s Office. and the role of the Attorney General ”, he added.

Idrus said that prior to his appointment as Attorney General, he had worked in the Judicial and Legal Service for nearly 35 years and served as Attorney General before being appointed as a Judge of the Court of Appeals in 2014.

A Federal Court judge prior to his appointment as Attorney General, Idrus said, had no doubts about the ability, skills, commitment and dedication of legal officials in performing their responsibilities and duties fairly and without fear or favoritism.

He said that as Attorney General, it is his primary duty under the Federal Constitution to advise Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Cabinet or any Minister on legal matters to protect the interests and law of the country.

For judicial officials, he said, they have to fulfill their functions based on the principles of law with loyalty to the King and the country.

“I am very proud of the abilities, skills, commitment and dedication of my officers who have shown excellent performance and achievements in addressing the complex and critical problems and challenges facing the country today,” he said.

He called on legal officers to maintain their excellent job performance and continue to propel the department toward success in line with aspirations to uphold justice. Called
