MARANG (Bernama): A 19-year-old student was taken to the Magistrates Court here on Tuesday (November 3) for the police to obtain a preventive detention order in connection with the murder of her friend, Siti Nur Surya Ismail, ago two days.
Magistrate Engku Nurul Ain Engku Muda issued a remand order for the girl to be detained for seven days to assist in the police investigation of the case.
The suspect, dressed in an orange police uniform, arrived at court at 10:10 a.m. and was escorted by two female police officers.
She was arrested yesterday at 8.15 am at the Telemong Police Station when she appeared for questioning with her mother.
A video recording of the suspect near the victim’s home had gone viral since yesterday after the body of 19-year-old Siti Nur Surya was found dead with his left hand severed and cut wounds to the body.
Siti Nur Surya’s body was found in the living room of the house by her 15-year-old sister when she returned from school around 2.30pm on Sunday (November 1). – Bernama
