KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional President Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has denied that he was among the 10 Umno MPs who signed a legal declaration (SD) to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This was not the first time that the Kinabatangan parliamentarian announced his position, since he made it clear since October refuting accusations of supporting the PKR president in the bid to form a new government.

The problem resurfaced when a media organization quoted a source as saying that Anwar will make another attempt to convince Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah that he has sufficient support from parliamentarians in 113 form signed. SOUTH DAKOTA.

Bung Moktar in a statement on Sunday (December 13) urged that those irresponsible conversations stop as they were confusing people.

“We may be a democratic country with freedom to use social networks, but we must stop those things that could cause confusion among our people.

“If the parties involved really have the majority, bring the SD and present it to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. No need to make statements.

“If anyone has the confidence to win that support, present it (to the King). Don’t make such claims empty-handed, ”said Bung Moktar.

However, Bung, who is also Sabah’s Senior Deputy Minister and the state’s Minister of Public Works, said it was not an easy task for a political leader to get support in the form of SD, as it could determine the government of the country.

“How my name was linked, I do not know, but I have made statements before never giving support to any particular sector,” said the head of Sabah Umno, adding that such speculations are made by irresponsible parties.
