1. The PN and BN, who want their own chief ministerial candidate, have left it to the governor of Sabah, Juhar Mahiruddin (over) to decide.
2. However, time is running out, as any delay would allow Warisan president Shafie Apdal, who has refused to admit defeat in the Sabah elections, to close deals that could make up for his simple majority deficit.
3. PBS, which is part of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) alliance with PN and BN, denied that it was defecting to the defeated Warisan Plus alliance to form the new government.
4. International Trade and Industry Minister Azmin Ali described GRS’s victory in the Sabah polls as a public endorsement of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
