It also has a new eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (similar to the one you’ll find on the A 45, not the seven-speed on the A 35), with all-wheel drive. From zero to 100 km / h it takes 5.2 seconds.
Expect Mercedes-Benz Malaysia to offer the regular variants as well. The GLB for cooking is offered with two petrol engines: the GLB 200 has the Renault-derived 163 PS / 250 Nm 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a Getrag seven-speed wet DCT, while the GLB 250 4Matic gets the 224 PS / 350 Nm version of the 2.0-liter M260 trim, mated to the eight-speed all-wheel drive DCT.
Housed atop the sportier, low-slung GLA, the GLB is slightly larger and adds a three-row seating option for the first time in Mercedes’ compact car lineup. It also has a more boxy design and a tougher-looking interior, plus an engineered off-road package for greater mud gliding ability.
