Some Liverpool fans have noticed the same from Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian striker fought again on West Ham United’s visit to Anfield tonight.
Firmino, who joined Liverpool in 2015, struggled to bond with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane as effectively as he has in recent years.
Reds coach Jurgen Klopp took him out in the 71st minute and his replacement, Diogo Jota, ended up shooting the Premier League champions a 2-1 lead, after an earlier one from the Portuguese was ruled out.
The former Hoffenheim star has only managed 13 goals in his last 61 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions.
His game was never strictly about goals, as Klopp will tell you, but he scored 16 times during the 2018-19 campaign, and 27 the previous season.
It seems to be declining on several different levels with respect to its influence.

It’s a pretty sad observation when you consider how popular he was with Liverpool fans at one point.
That said, he’s still clearly a brilliant footballer and with Jota starting to run at Anfield, that could bring him back to life once more.
Jota’s contribution tonight means that Firmino is no longer an automatic starter and once he assimilates, he should be motivated to improve.
