PETALING JAYA – Social Security Organization (Socso) taxpayers in Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan can take the free Covid-19 test starting today.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said Socso would only absorb the cost if the exam was conducted on its panels.
“Employers can screen their workers for Covid-19 for free only at Socso’s health service panels.
“They can arrange for screening to be done in clinics, laboratories or workplaces,” he said in a statement.
Saravanan also said that the Covid-19 Prihatin Detection Program (PSP) had been extended to taxpayers living in red zone areas under the conditional motion control order.
Apart from this, he said that Socso was also offering subsidized screening under its Prihatin Screening Subsidy scheme.
“For the subsidized screening package, the cost must be initially borne by the employers.
“Employers can submit claims through the https://psp.perkeso.gov.my portal and include pay stubs,” he said.
Saravanan said Socso would reimburse the RM150 allowance for each employee who underwent the evaluation.
“Both the free and subsidized exams can only be done through employers,” he said.
The PSP was offered to both foreigners and local workers in all sectors.
The offer was also extended to those who had previously conducted the Covid-19 test.
“Employers and employees must follow standard operating procedure to avoid any risk of transmission during the selection process,” he said.
