LONDON (Reuters) – Gareth Bale arrived at Luton Airport near London on Friday before completing his imminent return to Tottenham Hotspur.
Wales striker Bale, who left the Premier League Spurs to join Real Madrid for a then world record of 100 million euros (91.28 million pounds) in 2013, is expected to be revealed later on Friday.
Images from Sky Sports showed Bale getting off a private jet owned by Tottenham president Daniel Levy.
Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilón was also on the plane and is also ready to join the London club.
Bale, 31, is expected to initially go on loan.
He originally joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2007 and, after initially struggling to make his mark, became one of the club’s best players, scoring 56 goals and providing 58 assists in more than 200 appearances.
After joining Real Madrid, he won four Champions League titles and two in the League, but has lost favor with coach Zinedine Zidane.
