SM Entertainment has released a statement in response to a report about TVXQ’s Yunho.

On March 9, it was reported that Yunho was being investigated by the police for staying at a restaurant in Gangnam until approximately 12 a.m. KST one night in late February. According to current social distancing regulations in Seoul, the restaurant is only allowed until 10 p.m. KST, and customers must leave before then. Both SM Entertainment and Yunho apologized.

MBC’s “Newsdesk” later published a report on March 12 that said that when the police had arrived at the scene, Yunho had tried to flee and the people he was with had physically fought with the police to help. he.

The report also described the venue as an illegal adult entertainment establishment that only members can enter. He said that Yunho had been drinking until midnight with three acquaintances and a female employee. The police are reported to be considering plans to reserve the people who were with Yunho on suspicion of obstruction in the performance of their official duties.

On that day, Yunho’s agency SM Entertainment responded with the following statement:

This is SM Entertainment.

Today there was a report with false information related to Yunho, so we are sharing our statement.

It was clearly wrong that Yunho had not complied with social distancing regulations, and he is personally reflecting deeply as well. However, he did nothing wrong other than violate social distancing rules.

All Yunho did was go to the place his friend told him to go after his friend contacted him to tell him that he wanted to talk about a concern. It was the first time that I went to that place.

Furthermore, the only people Yunho spent time with were his friends. It is not entirely true that there was an employee sitting with them. At the time of the arrival of the police, there were only managers to handle the pay and there were no female employees.

Also, it is not entirely true that Yunho tried to flee when the police arrived. Instead, he sincerely cooperated with the police and public officials in the performance of his official duties, so, after immediately confirming his identity on the scene, he was sent home. As more than 10 plainclothes policemen suddenly entered, some of their friends were surprised and protested, not knowing that they were policemen. However, this was something completely foreign to Yunho.

It is deeply regrettable that a false report was made without the facts being duly confirmed.

Criticism and punishment for wrongdoing will be accepted, but we implore you to refrain from making unfounded speculations.
