Singapore can celebrate as only 6 confirmed cases of Covid-19; lowest since March 5

SINGAPORE, Oct 3 (The Straits Times / ANN): Six new cases of Covid-19 (coronavirus) were confirmed as of Saturday afternoon (Oct 3), including one community case and four imported cases.

This is the lowest number of cases since March 5, which at the time saw five new cases.

A Singaporean is the only community case reported on Saturday (October 3), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

Latest increase brings Singapore’s total number of cases to 57,800

In its brief data published here, the Republic’s Ministry of Health said that the new cases include one in the community and four imported cases.

The ministry said it was still working on the details of the cases and that more updates will be issued tonight.

As of yesterday, the ministry has classified 1,085 of the reported cases as imported, 2,253 as community cases, and 54,456 involving dormitory residents.

The ministry also said that 48 confirmed cases remain hospitalized, but none in the intensive care unit.

Singapore reported its first positive Covid-19 case on January 23.

Yesterday no new clusters were identified.

The number of new daily cases in the community has remained stable at an average of less than one in the last two weeks.

The number of unrelated cases in the community has also remained stable at an average of less than one case per day during the same period.

With 22 cases discharged yesterday, 57,519 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

In addition to the 48 patients who remain in the hospital, none in intensive care, it was also confirmed that 185 are recovering in community facilities.

Singapore has had 27 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
