SINGAPORE, Sept. 26 (The Straits Times / ANN): 20 new cases of Covid-19 (coronavirus) were confirmed as of noon on Saturday (Sept. 26), bringing Singapore’s total to 57,685.
These include a patient from the community who has a work pass, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.
There were also five imported cases that had been placed on notice of admission upon arrival in Singapore.
In brief data published here today, the Republic’s Ministry of Health (MINSA) said that based on its investigations, the ministry confirmed that there was only one case in the community.
The ministry said it was still working on the details of the cases and more updates will be issued tonight.
In the full data released last night, the ministry revealed that the 11 cases reported yesterday were asymptomatic and were detected based on their detection and proactive surveillance.
So far, MINSA has classified 1,036 of the reported cases as imported, 2,244 as community cases, and 54,385 involving dorm residents.
The ministry said 57,341 cases had fully recovered and discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
A total of 29 confirmed cases remain hospitalized but none in the intensive care unit.
Meanwhile, 268 patients who have mild symptoms or who are clinically well but tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and cared for in community facilities.
To date, 27 people have died from complications due to Covid-19 in the republic.
Yesterday no new clusters were identified.
The number of new daily cases in the community in a week has remained stable at an average of less than one case per day in the last two weeks.
The number of unrelated cases in the community has also remained stable at an average of less than one case per day during the same period.
Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 32 million people. More than 990,000 people have died. – The Straits Times / Asian News Network
