KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a video clip alleging that show business personality Azwan Ali mocked the proclamation of a state of emergency by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
CID federal director Huzir Mohamed confirmed that reports had been made about the video clip and that the matter was being investigated by the Classified Crimes Investigation Unit in Bukit Aman.
Azwan Ali was called to the office today to assist in the investigation. We are continuing our investigation to identify the owner of the Facebook page that caused the video clip to go viral.
“The police urge the public to be wise and prudent users of social networks and not to use the platform to such an extent that it may cause anxiety in the public and upset the harmony in the country,” he said in a statement.
The 41-second video clip is alleged to have been viralized by Facebook account holder known as ‘Zai Mikail’ on January 12.
