The wild boar was stopped short by the presence of people in the Alamanda shopping complex in Putrajaya.

PUTRAJAYA: Shoppers at the Alamanda shopping complex here were alarmed when a wild boar entered the building this afternoon.

Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Station Chief Shaari Abdullah said they received a call about the incident at 12:40 p.m.

He said eight people with two fire trucks arrived shortly after and chased the animal out of the shopping complex building.

“The animal then made its way to the Presint 16 rugby field and the case was handed over to the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) Wildlife Division for the necessary action to be taken,” he told Bernama.

Several video clips and photos went viral on Twitter showing the wild boar wandering inside a sports store in Alamanda.

Shaari said that every Sunday a wild boar hunting operation was carried out in the administrative center of the federal government.

Therefore, he asked the officers involved to contact the wildlife division of the PPj to see if there is any such case to ensure the safety of people and public property.
