KOTA KINABALU: Warisan Plus will let Sabah PKR decide on the remaining seven state seats, but said it was prepared for any eventuality in the upcoming state elections.
Sabah Heritage Party (Heritage) President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (Photo) said that Sabah PKR attended the seat negotiations and was aware of the number of seats it has been allocated, which is seven.
“They were present at the discussions, but we have a limited time to make announcements.
“We will see what they are going to do, but I hope it is in line with what we have done.
“We are quite prepared for the consequences that we are going to face in this state election.
“I have taken all aspects into consideration,” he told reporters after announcing the Warisan Plus candidate list at the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) on Thursday (September 10).

However, he said he hoped that Sabah PKR, led by Datuk Christina Liew, who is also acting deputy prime minister, would maintain the spirit of cooperation within the pact.
He said that the PKR as a national party could compete across the country, while Warisan and Upko, who are local, should only focus on Sabah.
“Because Upko and we don’t compete in other states and they do, they have a lot of seats.
“But at least their presence (here) is not based only on the distribution of candidates but on participation in the state government before this.
“Although the DAP has many more seats, we gave the post of deputy chief minister to PKR,” the acting prime minister said.
“I leave it to them and I am not going to force them to advertise their candidates.
“It’s their party and they are using their own logo so I think it’s important that they make the announcement before Nomination Day (September 12),” he said.
