Warisan President Shafie Apdal was asked why PKR Head of State Christina Liew left the room after seat assignments were announced.

SEMPORNA: Warisan Chairman Mohd Shafie Apdal has admitted that the distribution of seats among Warisan Plus parties for the Sabah state assembly elections was not an easy task, but was done by consensus.

He said that the matter had been negotiated with Amanah, DAP, PKR and Upko, and that he had also monitored and evaluated various aspects before deciding on suitable candidates.

He said this to reporters after a meeting with the people program at the Jamek Mosque in Kampung Bantayan here today.

Shafie was asked to comment on the allocation of seven seats to PKR although he had requested 14. The seven seats are Matunggong, Tempasuk, Tamparuli, Inanam, Api-Api, Klias and Sook.

Yesterday it was announced that Warisan Plus would be competing for all 73 seats in rapid polls, with Warisan running candidates in 46 seats, Upko (12), DAP (seven), PKR (seven) and Amanah (one).

Shafie denied allegations that Sabah PKR president Christina Liew was unhappy with the seating assignments, as she and some PKR members left the room when the announcement was made. She said she left on another matter.
