MELAKA (Bernama): A seven-year-old boy died in Taman Krubong Jaya here, on Friday (January 29), after he was believed to have been abused by his mother and stepfather.
The head of the Melaka Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman, said the boy allegedly drowned in a tub of water at his home in the 4 p.m. incident.
He said preliminary investigations found physical injuries on the victim’s body and that both parents, ages 32 and 38, were detained.
“At approximately 4 pm yesterday, the Melaka Tengah District Operating Room received a call from a man who reported that his son had drowned at his home in Taman Krubong Jaya.
“Controls at the scene found the seven-year-old male victim with bruises and wounds on various parts of his body,” he said when contacted here on Saturday (January 30).
He said the body was taken to the Melaka Hospital Forensic Department for an autopsy and that the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.- Bernama
