Sergio Reguilón of Real Madrid chooses Manchester United to return to Sevilla

Manchester United are set to win the race for Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilón.

Man United could make Sergio Reguilón his second summer signing, but they are far from acquiring the player’s signature. As things stand, no official offers have been presented with the sale price set at 30 million euros by Real Madrid, La Liga champions.

They are also willing to insert a buyback clause for the 23-year-olds. They value him very well, but they would like to see him develop further elsewhere and get much-needed minutes on the pitch, instead of sitting still and wasting on the Bernabéu bench.

The Old Trafford board is reluctant to accept this buy-back clause and is unwilling to meet the total sale price of € 30 million, which could lead to a deadlock in the deal. The player has made it perfectly clear that United is his preferred destination despite spending a season with Sevilla and achieving great successes by taking the Europa League crown.

This gives them a strong hand in negotiations. Since Reguilon simplified his decision, Los Nervionenses have turned their attention elsewhere. Goal reports that they have signed Acuña from FC Porto, wasting no time and in an attempt to be ready for the next campaign.

Sevilla sign Acuña from Sporting CP as a replacement for Reguilon, linked to Manchester United.

Talks continue between Real Madrid and Manchester United and we could see an agreement soon. Time is not a luxury and funds are a requirement if the Real is going to shop this summer.

This declares that the fringe defenders at Old Trafford must find other clubs sooner rather than later if they don’t want to be caught on the bench, further back in the selection when Ole’s preferred options are acquired.

Diego Dalot has been linked with moves to other Premier League clubs and abroad, with PSG being the most dominant of the links alongside Everton. A signing for the Manchester club will not do him any good for the new campaign with the Champions League included.
