Seremban will go to CMCO from November 5

While Seremban has to submit to CMCO, Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob stressed that EMCO for various locations in Putra Point, Nilai will continue as usual.

KUALA LUMPUR: Seremban will be placed under a conditional movement control order (CMCO) from November 5-18, Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today.

This will affect nine sub-districts of Seremban, namely Ampangan, Seremban, Bandar Seremban, Labu, Rantau, Rasah, Setul, Pantai and Lenggeng.

“Based on the advice of the Ministry of Health, the National Security Council (MKN) agreed to place a CMCO in Seremban,” he said.

The CMCO rules are as follows:

  • only two members of a household can leave the house to buy basic necessities;
  • all schools, institutions of higher education, training institutes, kindergartens, nurseries, public parks and recreation centers will be closed;
  • activities in the economic, industrial and commercial sectors could function as usual, but working hours could be limited;
  • all forms of public transportation, such as buses, taxis and e-hailing services, can operate from 6 am to 12 am;
  • the daily markets can open from 6 am to 2 pm, while the wholesale markets can operate from 4 am to 2 pm and the night markets from 4 pm to 10 pm;
  • clinics and public hospitals may be open for 24 hours, while pharmacies and drug stores may operate from 8 am to 11 pm;
  • the fishing, farming and farming sectors can function as usual; Y
  • Not all social gatherings, including weddings and entertainment activities, are allowed.

Ismail said interdistrict and interstate travel will not be allowed except in emergencies and with a police permit. Workers must show their employee pass and letter to travel from their respective companies.

He also said that all religious activities in the mosque will be decided by the state religious authorities, adding that more details can be found on the MKN website.

While the entirety of Seremban must submit to the CMCO, Ismail stressed that the Enhanced Motion Control Order (EMCO) for various locations in Putra Point, Nilai will continue as usual.

He also announced that tomorrow the EMCO will be lifted for the prisons in the northern area and Selangor as scheduled, as the Ministry of Health had seen a decrease in daily positive cases and managed to control the situation.

However, he said that the EMCO for Seberang Prai Prison and its staff quarters will be extended for another 14 days from November 5 to 18.

“Seberang Prai Prison and its staff units still registered new positive Covid-19 cases as of November 1. As such, MKN has agreed to continue with EMCO in the area ”.
