KUALA LUMPUR: Serba Dinamik Group Bhd and the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) have teamed up to foster the growth of the digital startup ecosystem in Malaysia by providing guidance and guidance to budding entrepreneurs for an innovative transformation.
In a joint statement, the parties said the collaboration would help tech startups in the country by focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, 5G, Big Data, cybersecurity, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and machine learning.
The parties also announced the RM6mil Transformation Seeds Innovative Fund that will encourage new companies involved in digital or commercial innovation to market their ideas through a clear business model.
According to Serba Dinamik Group Managing Director Datuk Mohd Abdul Karim, collaboration is the first phase of partnership in business development programs. Efforts will be carried out mainly in Sarawak and will be phased in to Peninsular Malaysia.
“We are delighted and grateful to partner (MTDC) in mentoring local talents to capitalize on the tremendous growth potential that the region has to offer, and with this initiative, it could be a global footprint opportunity,” he said.
MTDC CEO Datuk Norhalim Yunus said it is a concrete government initiative to create new opportunities, develop technical skills and help realize the vision of the digital country.
“MTDC will extend collaboration opportunities for Startup innovators in Malaysia to engage with their research and development arms to help raise awareness of digital technologies and instill a culture of innovative thinking,” he said.
“We will also design and develop programs, including training, knowledge sharing, development programs and other programs of a similar nature that will benefit cooperation in addition to providing transfer of knowledge and experience for the development of technology transfer, commercialization and entrepreneurship,” he said.
