KLANG: Selangor state government will yield to standard operating procedures (SOPs) stipulated by the National Security Council (NSC) for the duration of the conditional motion control order (MCO) in the state, says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari .

The Selangor Mentri Besar said this was decided at the state MCO’s conditional implementation coordination meeting that involved all Selangor mayors, district and municipal council presidents, and district officials.

The meeting was also attended by the Selangor Health Department and state NSC officials, it said in a statement on Wednesday (October 14).

“After considering everyone’s comments, the state government has decided to use the NSC outlined SOP for all of Selangor, including Klang district, for the implementation of the conditional MCO from October 14 to October 27,” added.

During the discussion, the state government also agreed to emphasize several issues that were not mentioned in the NSC SOP.

Among them was that the morning markets could operate under the same SOP as the night markets.

The use of exercise equipment and games in public parks is strictly prohibited, Amirudin said.

He added that registrations of non-Muslim marriages were allowed, but that the ceremony could only be attended by no more than six people at a time.

“Hopefully, the people of Selangor will adhere to SOP to break the chain of infection from the pandemic,” Amirudin said.
