SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today expressed concern about the incessant political turmoil in the country that is causing unrest among the people.
His private secretary, Muhamad Munir Bani, said that the ruler was also disappointed with most politicians who did not seem to care at all about the problems and hardships that people were facing, as well as their economic positions severely affected due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. .
The sultan said that people have started to get bored and disgusted with the politicians who were fighting and fighting to take control of the leadership of the country.
“Politicians must be responsible and ensure that addressing the plight of the people remains their priority in the performance of their responsibilities and duties.
“The suffering and difficulties of the people must be addressed and resolved immediately by adopting drastic and effective approaches,” he said in a statement.
Therefore, Munir said that Sultan Sharafuddin wants all parties, especially politicians, to work together despite their different political ideologies and stay focused on helping to solve the challenges of the people and the country to combat the pandemic of Covid-19, as well as rebuilding the economy of the country that had been badly hit.
Munir said the Sultan also took note and fully supported the statement issued by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah on October 16.
The King had advised politicians to reflect on their actions so that the country would not be drawn into political uncertainty.
He also reiterated his advice to the deputies during the opening ceremony of the third session of the XIV Parliament last May, to show maturity in politics and understand the grievances of the people and not neglect the well-being of the people.
