KUCHING (Feb. 13): Sarawak will extend the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) across the state from Feb. 15 to March 1, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced today.

The committee in a statement said today that the CMCO will run once again from 12:01 am on February 15 to 11:59 pm on March 1.

“Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) can be purchased from the National Security Council (NSC) website,” SDMC said.

The committee said that throughout the CMCO period, all movement between zones in the state without permission from the police would be prohibited.

The committee also cautioned that economic activities such as the opening of daily markets, wholesale markets, farmers markets, night markets and night bazaars were not allowed in red zone districts across the state.

Meanwhile, police arrested three Chinese women yesterday at a foot reflexology facility in Mukah for not having valid travel documents and for violating the SOP by operating beyond the hours allowed during the CMCO.

In total, the police have issued 10 composite notices since yesterday, where four were in Padawan, Miri (3) and Mukah (3) for SOP violations.

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government during the same time period issued 107 advisory notices, of which 31 were from the North Kuching City Commission (DBKU), the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) (30), Miri City Council (30), Sibu City Council (SMC) (10), Kuching South City Council (MBKS) (5), Serian District Council (3), Kapit District Council (2), Council District of Subis (2) and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) (1).
