Schools and educational institutions will reopen as scheduled in the 2021 academic calendar, says the Ministry of Education

PETALING JAYA: All educational institutions across the country registered under the Ministry of Education will reopen in accordance with the 2021 academic calendar, the ministry says.

Private and international institutions reporting to the ministry will reopen according to their respective academic calendars, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday (January 2).

“This involves all the institutions in the country, even those in the areas of conditional movement control orders.

“The operation of the institutions is subject to guidelines and standard operating procedures established by the authorities …

“The ministry will continuously monitor the operations of these institutions together with the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health,” he added.

Furthermore, in a circular dated August 14, 2020, Deputy Director General for Education (school operations sector) Adzman Talib said that schools will reopen on January 20 and end on December 9 for states that belong to the Category A, while Category B states will reopen on January 20 and close on December 10.
