PUTRAJAYA: While Malaysians entering Sarawak from the mainland, Sabah or Labuan no longer need to undergo quarantine, the procedure remains for those entering the state from abroad, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Chief Minister (Security) said those from abroad, including Sarawak residents, will be quarantined for 14 days at designated centers and will undergo swab tests for Covid-19 on both the second and the 10th day.
“The cost of quarantine for Sarawak residents returning from abroad will be borne by the state government, while non-Sarawak residents will bear the full cost,” it said in a statement on Wednesday (September 2).
Ismail said the state has decided that while Malaysians traveling from the peninsula, Sabah and Labuan no longer need to be quarantined, they will have to fill out an online health declaration form before entering the state.
