KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP Youth Chief Phoong Jin Zhe believes that his principles and his work in the Luyang constituency will be an advantage in his six-corner fight in state elections.

The youngest assemblyman in the state said he is not someone who can be bought or switched parties like that.

“If you look at the list of candidates for the Luyang state seat, some of them have jumped a few times, so this clearly shows where their hearts are,” he said during a meet the people session on Sunday (September 13).

He was accompanied in the session by Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and DAP Likas candidate Tan Lee Fatt.

Phoong said that in this new era of new policies, people should not speak out and focus solely on race, religion and regionalism and leaders should not play on those sentiments.

“We must reject the leap of politicians, monetary policy and kleptocrats,” he said.

Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq said he was in awe of Sabah’s unity, which he said he admired, adding that this should be brought back to Peninsular Malaysia.

“We must teach them about unity and diversity, this is our strength. It should not be a divisive factor, ”he said, adding that it is also time for Sabah to be treated as equal partners in the Federation of Malaysia.

He said now is the time for voters to send a clear message to political frogs and to those who do not have strong principles or beliefs in their political career.

Syed Saddiq said that it is only fair that the mandate is returned to the people when there are politicians who jump out and betray the trust of the people.
