KOTA KINABALU: Those who are appointed as ministers under Sabah’s new state government should have their management plan ready to give clear direction to the state, says Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (Photo).
Sabah President Barisan Nasional said that this was one of the plans that would be implemented if the coalition was victorious in the next state elections.
Public officials would need to have strategic planning designed so that their work can be well translated at the grassroots level, he said.
“One of the programs identified is agriculture by zones.
“We want to make sure that this industry in Sabah thrives on a consistent basis. That’s in our game plan and more. In fact, we have prepared such a plan, but of course we are not going to reveal it yet, ”he told reporters late on Sunday (September 13) after meeting with BN leaders in the center of the Bukit Garam voting district.
Bung, the candidate for Lamag’s new seat, also said the lack of jobs in Sabah was due to not much investment to generate the economy.
He said it didn’t help that the interim government (Warisan Plus) had delayed the Pan Borneo highway project.
“We have the Pan Borneo Highway plan that is supposed to be completed in 2023, but Warisan Plus has delayed it and the 2023 goal will not be achieved, so the job opportunities are gone,” he said.
Part of Barisan’s plan was to provide job opportunities for young people, especially in the Kinabatangan district, he added.
