LISBON: Cristiano Ronaldo moved closer to the all-time record for most international goals when European champion Portugal thrashed Andorra 7-0 in a friendly on Wednesday.
The Juventus star came on as a substitute to score his 102nd goal for Portugal in the 85th minute.
Former Iranian forward Ali Daei has the record of 109 goals.
Portugal, which continues preparations for the defense of the European Championship next year with a Nations League game with France on Saturday, edged out Andorra.
Lobos winger Pedro Neto gave them an early lead, before a Paulinho double, on either side of a Renato Sanches goal, made the fourth.
Emili García scored an own goal 14 minutes from time.
Ronaldo was introduced at half-time but had to wait until just five minutes remained to push his record bet, before Atlético de Madrid forward Joao Félix closed the score.
Ronaldo, 35, tested positive for coronavirus on October 13 when he was last with the Portugal national team, missing a 3-0 victory over Sweden.
