“Road to Kingdom” has officially started with its highly anticipated release!

On April 30, Mnet’s new competition show kicked off with an episode featuring the seven groups of boys coming together and showcasing their skills through 90-second performances. The groups participating in this show are PENTAGON, ONF, Golden Child, The Boyz, VERIVERY, ONEUS and TOO. They are all competing with the goal of earning a chance to appear on the upcoming “Kingdom” show.

The premiere of “Road to Kingdom” showed how competitors discovered who they were fighting with when the groups entered the studio one by one. The Boyz entered first and said, “We hope that not only our fans but also the general public will remember our name.” They added: “We are very determined. We have to do well today.”

VERIVERY was the next to join, and they said, “We believe that since we are newbies, we still have a lot to prove. We are going to show newbies passion.”

ONEUS, which has performed around the world, such as on a US tour and a concert in Japan, said, “We hope this is an opportunity for us to create a space for ONEUS in Korea as well.”

Golden Child shared: “We want to show all our different charming qualities through more varied concepts and our singing and choreography. We hope you wait to see what kind of image we will have that will win us the crown. “

ONF joined next and they said, “We are appearing on the show because we want to show new performances and the charm of ONF’s history.”

Rookie group TOO, which debuted in April, came in and said, “We go to the show with the mentality that we have nothing to lose. We want to quickly show who we are.”

PENTAGON, which is the oldest of all the groups, came in last place and the other teams defended them. PENTAGON had been chosen by most of the other teams as the group they most wanted to avoid. PENTAGON said: “We have used all our unique charms, our knowledge and all our ideas and we want to demonstrate that we are a group with an energy and enthusiasm that will make people say, ‘Wow, that was crazy.’ We feel safe. “

Later in the show, PENTAGON also spoke about why they had decided to join the competition. Jinho admitted to his teammates with a smile: “To be honest, I am really desperate.”

Kino added: “There was a change in our membership and there was also a time when we were the subject of rumors. There were many times when we felt discouraged. “Jinho said,” We think of this as taking the opportunity to solve those things, so I think our mindset for this competition is very different. “

“Road to Kingdom” presenters Lee Da Hee and Jang Sung Kyu shared how the show’s format will be different from last year’s “Queendom”. The groups will compete in four rounds, however, unlike “Queendom”, two groups will be eliminated during the show.

The first group to be eliminated will be the one with the lowest cumulative score after the first and second round. The remaining six teams will conduct the third round, and the group with the lowest cumulative score after this round will also go home. This means that only five groups will perform in the live finale.

Additionally, the winner of “Road to Kingdom” will earn a spot on the “Kingdom” show. The winner will be the group with the highest cumulative score from the first, second, third and final rounds.

Another team could also earn the chance to compete in “Kingdom”. The group with the highest score in the live finale will also have the opportunity to head to “Kingdom”.

However, if it happens that the group that had the highest cumulative score of all rounds also enters the live finale first, then only one group will go to “Kingdom”.

After the rules were announced, each team took the stage to showcase their talents with 90-second performances.
