SHAH ALAM: Restaurants and convenience stores in Selangor can now operate until 2 am, says the chairman of the new village development committee, public transport and state local government, Ng Sze Han.

He said the Selangor government made the decision following the announcement by the National Security Council (MKN) on Friday (September 11) to allow extended hours of operation for those companies.

“The Covid-19 cases in Selangor remain under control throughout the entire period of the recovery movement control order. Now is the time to tackle and recover the economy, ”Ng said in a statement on Sunday (September 13).

“However, preventing the transmission of Covid-19 remains the state government’s priority.

“As such, all visitors and operators are reminded to always adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) established by MKN and to practice physical distancing,” he added.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced on Thursday (September 10) that the hours of operation of business premises, such as restaurants and convenience stores, had been extended to 2 a.m. from the previous midnight.
