Religious celebrity Da’i Syed to be indicted in PJ and Shah Alam courts for alleged rape and sex crimes

SHAH ALAM: Religious celebrity Da’i Syed is expected to face multiple charges for alleged sex crimes in the Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam courts on Thursday (December 10).

Datuk Fadzil Ahmat, deputy head of the Selangor CID, said he is expected to face charges of voluntarily committing carnal relations against the order of nature and using criminal force to outrage a person’s modesty in the Petaling Jaya Session Court.

“He is also expected to face rape charges at Shah Alam’s Court of Sessions,” he said in a statement Thursday.

Another woman was reported to have filed a police report on an alleged sexual assault involving religious celebrity Da’i Syed.

The 26-year-old nurse, who works at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur, claimed she was a victim of the 25-year-old in December last year.

Selangor Police Chief Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin was quoted as saying on December 8 that the latest police report brings the number of complaints filed against the suspect to nine.

On Monday (December 7), the suspect, who is also a former reality TV contestant, was detained for five days in connection with two police rape reports filed against him in Petaling Jaya on November 29 and 30.
