Relatives of the owners of a beauty salon in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, whose failed liposuction killed a 23-year-old model, attended his wake and apologized to the family of the deceased, China Press reported.
A man and two women who were related to the owners visited the Xiao En Center in Cheras on Tuesday to pay their last respects and apologize for the incident.
Coco Siew died on Saturday when she underwent liposuction that allegedly went wrong at the salon, which apparently was not licensed to perform medical procedures.
The model, who was to be married at the end of the year, was rushed to the hospital after her heart rate dropped after an injection of anesthesia in her arm around 2.30 p.m. She died at 5 p.m. in the hospital .
Siew’s brother told the newspaper that relatives of the woman and her daughter who own the beauty salon felt it was appropriate for them to come pay their last respects.
He thanked the audience for their concern.
Siew, who is said to have led a fit and healthy lifestyle, was the first in an Asian modeling competition in 2014.
