TANJUNG MALIM: The police are available at the polling stations here to assist the Election Commission (EC) officers and can only act on their advice, says Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, Superintendent of Muallim OCPD.
“I cannot comment much earlier on the issue of the dress code at the SK Aminuddin Baki voting center. However, I think it was just a miscommunication, ”he told reporters at IPD Muallim on Saturday (August 29).
Previously, at least 10 voters were asked to leave the voting center in SK Aminuddin Baki because they were wearing shorts.
Some of them tore up the information cards distributed by the EC in protest.
In another matter, Sulizmie said that five police reports were filed during the campaign period.
“The fifth report was presented yesterday (August 28) on a campaign speaker,” he said, but did not comment further.
He also advised voters not to gather in large groups.
“Following standard EC operating procedure, only 30 supporters of the winning party can enter the vote counting center.
“They must have EC-issued plates,” he said, adding that barricades will be set up along the route to the vote counting center at the Tanjung Malim district council.
“I advise voters to stay home after casting their ballot.
“For those who have not voted, please do your duty by wearing masks and maintaining physical detachment,” he said.
