Recovery MCO violation: 470 fined, 32 returned

KUALA LUMPUR: Police issued enclosures to 470 people and sent 32 other people for violating the Recovery Movement Control (MCO) order.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that among the crimes committed on Friday (November 13) were not wearing masks and traveling through states and districts without permission.

“The police-led enforcement task force conducted 56,133 inspections on Friday, including 3,768 supermarkets, 4,781 restaurants and 1,106 factories.

“The task force will intensify its inspections to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs),” the defense minister said in a statement on Saturday.

In Ops Benteng, Ismail said 38 undocumented immigrants and two Tekong were detained on Friday.

“We also seized eight land vehicles.

“On Friday a total of 250 barricades were held throughout the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, it said 66,823 people returned to Malaysia since July 24, adding that 9,569 were still in mandatory quarantine at 67 hotels and 21 public training institutes, while 388 people were sent to hospital for treatment.

“56,866 people have been discharged and allowed to return to their homes,” he said.

On the supply of basic necessities, Ismail said that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) conducted 638 inspections on 12 types of articles on Friday.

“The supply of needs is sufficient for the country.

“The ministry also carried out SOP checks at 848 locations. All adhered to the SOPs,” he said.

On public sanitation operations, Ismail said 11,415 operations had been carried out since March 30.

“It involved 13,732 stores in 137 areas,” he added.
