Realme Malaysia has officially unveiled its Smart TV that runs on Google’s Android TV operating system. Smart TVs are available in two sizes: 43 ″ and 32 ″, but there are no specific details on availability yet.
Prices
The Realme Smart TV 43 ″ has an official price of RM 1,499, while the smaller 32 ″ version is priced at RM899. If you’re interested in getting one, both TVs will continue to appear soon during the Realme AIoT event. From the looks of it, it will be released after the 12.12 sale.
Hardware specs
Realme TVs use an ultra-bright bezel-less LED display that features a Chroma Boost engine. The larger 43 ″ version has a Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, while the 32 ″ variant has a lower HD resolution of 1366 × 768. Below the panel, both are powered by the 64-bit MediaTek processor from quad-core with ARM Cortex A53 and an MP3 Mali-470 GPU.
The televisions use a 24W four-speaker setup consisting of a pair of full-range speakers and a Dolby Atmos-enhanced combo tweeter. Since it is an Android TV device, you can install various applications from the Google Play Store of the TV.
There’s also the Google Assistant and Google Cast, which allows you to cast content to the big screen from your mobile device. Realme TV comes with a smart remote with dedicated buttons for Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube.
In terms of connectivity, it supports 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. The rear panel comes with 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, 1 AV port, 1 digital audio output, 1 antenna, and 1 LAN port.
At $ 1,499, it’s quite expensive for a Full HD Smart TV and you could easily find a larger 4K TV for the same price range during mega-sales online. Meanwhile, the biggest drawback of the 32 ″ TV is its lower HD resolution. If you search online, you get a 40-42 ″ Full HD TV for less than RM1,000.
The highlight of these Smart TVs is that Android TV is integrated into a single product. Another cheaper alternative is to buy a TV of your choice and you can connect a Xiaomi Mi TV Stick that also works with Android TV.
