KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has ensured that its public transport services are safe, although its official at the Bandaraya Light Rail Transit (LRT) station has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement today, Rapid Rail said its trains on all routes had been set up for cleaning and sanitizing at peak hours and after operating hours every day.
In addition to that, he said that his staff on duty at all stations and on trains also strictly adhered to standard operating procedure, such as wearing a face mask, ensuring personal hygiene and avoiding contact with passengers.
“Two days ago it was confirmed that the officer in question was positive for Covid-19 and is currently in treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. The officer was last on duty on December 19 and has not been working since.
“According to our investigation, this incident occurred in a closed area and the station officer involved had no contact with the passengers while on duty,” it further said.
Likewise, it indicated that the management of Rapid Rail, as operator of the Kelana Jaya line of the LRT service, had also carried out the cleaning and disinfection of the officer’s workplace based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, on the day it was confirmed that the officer tested positive for a viral infection.
According to the statement, all other personnel who had close contacts with the officer were also ordered to undergo an examination and then self-quarantine for 14 days, as stipulated by the SOP established by the Ministry of Health.
Rapid Rail also reminded travelers to adhere to the set of SOPs, including wearing a face mask at all times, cleaning their hands with disinfectant, and registering through the MySejahtera app or in the log book before entering the trains.Called
