Sergio Ramos’ perfect record from the penalty spot was stopped with a shudder after the defender missed two shots from the penalty spot in Spain’s draw with Switzerland.
The 34-year-old had scored 25 straight 12-yard penalties for both the club and the country and had a pair of chances to increase his score in the Nations League group stage clash on Saturday.
However, Ramos was turned down twice by Yann Sommer, with his second attempt a shocking attempt by Panenka that will leave Fulham star Ademola Lookman breathing a sigh of relief.

It was a historic occasion for Ramos in Basel, as Real Madrid’s talisman became the international male player with the most international appearances in Europe in history.
His appearance was number 177 with Spain, which allowed him to surpass Gianluigi Buffon in the classification.
But instead of celebrating the achievement, Ramos will stick around to reflect on his night of terror in the spotlight.

The center-back’s cheeky chip couldn’t get off the ground and Sommer was able to catch it easily.
Remo Freuler gave Switzerland the lead in the 26th minute after hitting a cross from Breel Embolo, but substitute Gerard Moreno avoided Ramos’ blushes when he tied on death.
Panenka’s effort failed to get off the ground and allowed Yann Sommer to make an easy save.
