(Reuters) – At least two people were killed and five injured after being stabbed by a man dressed in medieval clothing, armed with a knife near the Parliament Hill area of Quebec City, Canada, late on Saturday. local media reported.
Local police said they arrested a male suspect early Sunday and told people living near the area to stay indoors as the investigation was still ongoing.
Police had previously said they were hunting a man dressed in medieval clothing carrying a knife, leaving “multiple victims.”
Five victims have been transported to a local hospital, but their immediate status is unknown, according to https://bit.ly/3jNtii8 police spokesman Etienne Doyon, quoted by CBC News.
He quoted Doyon as saying that the suspect was in his 20s and that he was also taken to a hospital for evaluation.
No immediate details were available on the possible motive for the attack.
