PUTRAJAYA: The landmarks in the administrative center of the federal government will be illuminated every night from January 31 to February 7 in conjunction with the celebration of Federal Territory Day 2021 in the new rule.

Perdana Putra, Seri Saujana Bridge, and Seri Wawasan Bridge are among Putrajaya’s iconic landmarks that will sparkle in festive mood every night.

Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) Chairman Datuk Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zain said that the lighting of buildings and landmarks in Putrajaya was among the planned programs for the celebration of Federal Territory Day this year following the implementation of the Order of Motion Control (MCO).

“The Lighting Program is to encourage the public and building owners to turn on the lights to create a festive atmosphere at night so that the Federal Territory is always vibrant throughout the month of February,” he told Bernama here today.

Muhammad Azmi said that after February 7, the lights at Putrajaya landmarks would be turned on at night every weekend until February 28.

He said that the people of Putrajaya can enjoy the lively atmosphere created by the lighting from home with the family and share photos and videos through social media by posting the hashtag #WilayahPersederalWilayahPrihatin and #kibarbenderaWP.

For the program to beautify and bring Putrajaya to life in conjunction with this year’s celebration, PPj has assigned more than 10,000 Federal Territory flags and buntings with more than 1,000 buntings installed on protocol, federal and municipal highways.

PPj has also distributed 8,450 flags to the Putrajaya Residents Representative Council (MPPWP) and 25 schools here as an incentive to organize the Federal Territory Flag Waving Competition this year.

In compliance with standard operating procedure (SOP), he said that this year’s Festival of the People (Kenduri Rakyat) program was carried out with the delivery of food baskets to B40 category families in Putrajaya with an allocation of RM100, 000.

Muhammad Azmi said that PPj would also run the Let’s Pay the Summons (Jom Bayar Saman) campaign along with the celebrations that offered an offer of RM30 for compound notice and RM50 for subpoena cases from January 27 to February 28. -Called
