For those who don’t like the PS5’s two-tone black and white, custom faceplates were the way to go. And there was a company that did just that, until recently. Not only have they been forced to change their name, but they have also been told not to sell faceplates.

CustomizeMyPlates, based in the UK, was previously engaged in manufacturing custom faceplates for the PS5. Even before it was called PlateStation5. But VGC reports that Sony’s lawyers contacted a day after its website went live to ask for a name change.
Sony’s attorneys also said that because the company had patents pending on the faceplates, the company’s intellectual property extended to the faceplates. The end result is the name change of CustomizeMyPlates, and the company now sells PS5 skins instead of skins.
CustomizeMyPlates previously worked with manufacturers in both the UK and China for faceplates. The company previously sold custom PS5 faceplates for US $ 39.99 (RM166) or GBP32 (~ RM172). He also had plans to ship them within two weeks of the console’s launch date.
Now the company has moved on to selling skins for both the PS5 and the DualSense controller. The former is priced at US $ 25 (~ RM104), while the latter is priced at US $ 10 (~ RM42). There seems to be a good variety of both.
