Proton X50: the first mods debut with this ‘Bumblebee’

Barely a week has passed since the Proton X50 made its official debut, but the first aftermarket modifications to dress up the SUV have already taken place, as these photos of a sporty example show on the All in Proton X50 Facebook page. Accessories Malaysia.

The Citric Orange shade on this particular X50 has been ditched for a new bright yellow exterior shade, courtesy of a finish job. New wheels have also appeared, in this case 20-inch black alloys and five double spokes, covered with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubbers.

Additionally, the SUV’s already prominent dual leading edge receives an additional layer to make it three with the inclusion of a glossy carbon leading edge extension, and the front fog lamp edges now house a new set of daytime running lights from Three bars, which duplicates a vertically oriented sequential turn signal, complete with amber lighting.

Up ahead you’ll find matte carbon side mirror caps, along with a new more aggressive-styled two-tone S rear spoiler. By the way, you can also specify the three-piece front lip extension in glossy or matte black if carbon isn’t your thing.

The X50 also features a power boot lid, courtesy of a power liftgate kit. The installation apparently works with the Boyue Pro OEM part, ensuring a perfect fit without the need for cutting and drilling. This should be the unit listed in the optional accessory package for the SUV.

The keychain also received a matching yellow wrap treatment, but the adventure doesn’t end here – an audio system is being installed and we were informed that there are plans to upgrade the brakes and suspension next.

We’ll have a more detailed story on this X50 project soon, but it’s worth remembering that some modifications will void the vehicle’s warranty, in case anyone has the idea to go the same way. However, quite garang hey, this look, don’t you think?
