PETALING JAYA: The PPBM head of youth information, Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir, today urged the “political parties” not to be offended by the statement issued by his youth chief.

In a Facebook post, Ashraf said that Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal’s statement was not directed at any particular party, be it Umno or BN.

He said no one should be offended as opposition leaders were also involved in court cases that could result in a “trust deficit” among the public.

Ashraf was responding to a statement by Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who had reminded PPBM to stay humble, as PPBM would not have won multiple seats in the state assembly without Umno giving way.

He said that Umno had ceded many of its strongholds to PPBM and allowed Perikatan Nasional (PN) to form the federal government, as well as the state governments of Perak and, more recently, Sabah.

Asyraf Wajdi had said this after Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said that it was clear that the people preferred PN, as it was a newer coalition with no past scandals or “chronic problems” resulting in low public confidence.

“Perikatan Nasional has no legality issues or lack of trust because it is still new and fresh,” Wan Ahmad had said.
