KOTA KINABALU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has not decided whether it will participate in the Batu Sapi parliamentary elections to be held next month, Sabah PPBM Deputy Leader Masidi Manjun said.

“To be honest, none that I know of, no decision has been made so far,” he said in response to a statement by Sabah Barisan Nasional President Bung Moktar Radin about rumors that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah would contest the parliamentary seat, and the interest shown by a PPBM Leader in Batu Sapi.

Bung Moktar was reported to have said that Sabah BN has pledged its support to any candidate nominated by GRS if the coalition decides to participate in the by-elections.

The seat was vacated following the death of Warisan’s Liew Vui Keong on 2 October. The Electoral Commission has set November 23 for the nomination, December 1 for early voting and December 5 for by-elections.

GRS, which comprises Perikatan Nasional, BN and PBS, formed the state government after state elections in September.
