PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth was recommended to file a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on allegations that PPBM allegedly offered money to Umno members to leave the party.
PKR Youth head Akmal Nasir said this would be in line with article 25 (1) of the MACC Act, which requires one to report any bribery transactions.
“It will also finally allow investigations into previously leaked recordings of (PPBM chair) Muhyiddin Yassin making position promises to win support to form the government, as well as PPBM Youth’s controversial offer of letters of support in exchange for votes during party elections. .
“There has been no progress in the investigations into this matter, despite numerous police reports,” he said in a statement.
Akmal said the MACC report should be made immediately without concern for “threats of legal action” from other parties, such as the statement made by PPBM chief information officer Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
“Accusations by Umno Youth Chief (Asyraf Wadji Dusuki) that he has strong evidence have only confirmed that the culture of monetary policy is back in full effect, and it is disappointing that such dirty practices are hidden behind religious sentiments. and racial “.
Over the weekend, Asyraf had accused PPBM of “stealing and buying Umno members”, saying that each Umno member who joined PPBM would be paid RM100, while an allowance of between RM3,000 and RM5,000 for each branch established. above.
In response, Wan Saiful told Asyraf to retract his allegations and apologize, otherwise he would discuss with PPBM the possibility of taking legal action against Asyraf.
