SABAH SURVEYS | Former Chief Justice Richard Malanjun has urged Sabahans to reject the previous state administration that had ruled Sabah for 55 years but did little to develop the state.
In a video clip uploaded to social media yesterday, Malanjun, who was once touted as a Warisan candidate for the Sabah state elections, openly requested his support for Warisan.
“My fellow Sabahans, I am not a politician. I am a retiree. Why am I addressing you today? One simple reason, I don’t want to leave this world feeling guilty for doing nothing for my fellow Sabahans,” he said. in a sincere and powerful tone.
“That is why I came out openly to say why we should make a wise decision in this election,” said Malanjun, who is also a Sabah voter.
“If you don’t go that far to Pitas or upper Moyog, you will see that things haven’t changed much, particularly in the northern region of Sabah and Pitas,” he said.
“They are still as poor as before.

“Shafie Apdal had been given the mandate to rule, but they were not allowing it. They wanted to go back. Are we going to allow them to go back and continue what they have been doing to us for the last 55 years?
“Why are we taking back an old horse that had ruled us for 55 years and did literally little for Sabah other than, if I may say so, probably take care of themselves?
“We have suffered. Are we willing to allow our children and generations to come to suffer? With this group continuing to rule us in that way?” Malanjun asked.
“Let us not be easily convinced by so-called leaders who are nothing more than puppets of Malaysian politicians,” he added without naming local parties.

Sabah goes to the polls this Saturday.
The current ruling state coalition, Warisan Plus, is taking on Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, which is part of Perikatan Nasional, BN and PBS.
