KUALA LUMPUR, February 25: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will open an investigation document if there are people spreading false news objecting to the COVID-19 vaccine injection.

Police Deputy Inspector General Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (pix) said the investigative document would be opened if the police received a report on the matter.

He said the case would be investigated under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act of 1988.

“So far no police report has been received and the PDRM has advised the public not to make any statement that may confuse or cause concern to the community,” he said today in a statement.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin applied the COVID-19 vaccine, marking the start of the National COVID-19 Immunization Program, which aims to provide free immunization to both locals and foreigners in the country.

Muhyiddin received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Putrajaya District Health Office, Precinct 11, Putrajaya, here, which is one of the Vaccine Distribution Centers for the largest immunization program in the country. Called
