KUALA LUMPUR: No police report has been filed against Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (Photo) for breaking the home quarantine.

Amirudin apologized for the matter, saying he did this to verify the recent water outage at Selangor.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, said that no police report had been filed against Amirudin so far, but that the police would be reviewing the matter.

“We are aware of the matter and the fact that he has apologized for his action on social media.

“We will take the necessary actions when the need arises,” he told a press conference after launching the seminar on strengthening commercial crime investigation and the Semak Mule application.

Acryl said the police will take tougher action against anyone to curb the spread of Covid-19 on Wednesday (July 7).

“Action will be taken against anyone, regardless of who it is, according to the prime minister’s statement on Tuesday.

“As the prime minister said, we are in a critical phase following the increase in Covid-19 cases recently,” he said.
