KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for Goh Leong Yong, 32, who fled after being released by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Sunday (October 11).

Bukit Aman CID Director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the suspect’s last known address was a condo in Jalan Cheras.

“The suspect is wanted for three cases of online gambling at Cheras. We believe he is behind the illegal online gambling scam in Kuala Lumpur and Cheras,” he said in a statement on Friday (October 16).

The suspect had escaped shortly after the MACC released him on bail.

“He was detained by the MACC due to his alleged involvement in a Macau scam,” Comm Huzir added.

Comm Huzir urged anyone with information to contact Cheras CID Deputy Chief Ahmad Zamri Jai at 012-8993622 or Investigative Officer Insp Muhamad Faizal Asuar at 017-3126411, or contact any police station.

“The cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated,” he said.

In a related matter, Comm Huzir said three other men have been detained under Section 4 (1) (a) of the Crime Prevention Act (Poca) from October 14 to November 3.

“They were detained for allegedly being involved in hosting online gambling in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. They were detained just after MACC recently released them,” he said.

Comm Huzir said the three were previously detained by MACC due to their involvement in a Macau scam.
